When the sun sets over Venice's lagoons, it is a grandiose spectacle of European melancholy. But the Veneto is much more than its iconic capital: it connects the Adriatic with northern Italy. Its territory stretches from the Dolomites to the famous Colli Berici, from Lake Garda to the Po Valley and the Adriatic coast. It is characterised by an inspired juxtaposition of urban and rural lifestyles. The opera city of Verona, the university city of Padua, Vicenza with its villas by Palladio form the urban Veneto. In addition, the Valpolicella with its winegrowing and agriculture stretch across the plains. The Veneto offers a wide range of activities: mountain hiking in the Dolomites, winter sports in the Veneto Alps, and Italy's largest amusement park on Lake Garda. But if the weather doesn't cooperate: On the Grand Canal, on San Marco or under the Bridge of Sighs, exceptional aesthetic moments are guaranteed.

Visitors can also expect culinary delights, not only with the typical Grana Padano cheese. Dishes with the cult vegetable radiccio are also popular. This is accompanied by Prosecco from Valdobbiadene, the red wine Amarone from Valpolicella or white wines from Lugana south of Lake Garda.
